Surface Engineering Technologies (SET) is an engineering-led surface technology company. We help customers improve how components perform through thin-film coatings, plasma treatments, ion implantation, testing, custom fixturing, and research and development. Our work begins with the application. We consider the substrate, geometry, tolerances, operating environment, and performance requirements before recommending a solution. Depending on the challenge, that may mean reducing wear or friction, increasing hardness, improving corrosion or oxidation resistance, extending component life, or developing a new surface from the ground up. Our capabilities include PVD coatings, magnetron sputtering, cathodic arc deposition, plasma treatments, HMII, solid-film lubricants, and custom R&D. We support prototypes, specialized components, and production programs across aerospace, space, medical, automotive, mining, and advanced manufacturing applications. Customers work directly with our engineers throughout the process. We are especially well suited for challenging parts, unusual requirements, and projects that benefit from technical collaboration.
