The Sheffield Undergraduate Research Scheme (SURE) is a University of Sheffield scheme run by 301 Academic Skills Centre. We offer funded opportunities for undergraduate students from any discipline to work in partnership with an academic staff member on a dedicated research project. Projects are usually six weeks long during the summer vacation. Applications open in February each year, via an online form. Students must submit a joint application with an academic supervisor. All students at the University of Sheffield in their penultimate year of undergraduate study are eligible to apply. The SURE scheme enables students to gain valuable research experience, deepen their knowledge of a subject and develop transferable skills that will benefit not only their current studies, but their life and work beyond University.
