While Super Fighter Team was officially registered with the state of California, and thus founded, in May of 2004, its roots go back many years prior. The company's namesake is the PC fighting game, Super Fighter, which was developed in Taiwan by C&E, Inc. and first released in 1993. The game so interested Cobb that he began to create a modest yet informative website about it which was officially launched on August 3, 1998. By 2000, the website's content had been translated into Chinese. Shortly thereafter, Cobb was contacted by C&E, who shared their appreciation for his support of their video game. Soon after, Cobb obtained exclusive legal rights to and ownership of Super Fighter directly from C&E. Thus the dream became reality: Super Fighter Team was born.
