A 501(c) nonprofit organization dedicated to education for sustainability, integrated with a 1,400-acre working farm and National Historic Landmark on the shores of Lake Champlain. We advance education for sustainability and farm-to-school initiatives in Vermont, nationally, and internationally through our programs and partnerships, including our Sustainable Schools Project, partnership in Vermont FEED, Northeast Regional Lead for the National Farm to School Network, as backbone organization of the Farm-based Education Network, and more.

Eckert's is the largest family-owned, Pick-Your-Own orchard in the U.S. Started as a simple roadside stand in 1910 today the 6th and 7th generations oversee the daily operations of the Eckert farms and businesses. Jim Eckert, son of Juanita and Vernon, is President of Eckert Orchards and is the company's chief horticulturist. Lary Eckert, son of Curt and Ruth, recently resigned as President of Eckert's, Inc., after presiding over the company for 30 years. Succeeding Lary Eckert as president is Lary's son, Chris Eckert. Chris oversees retail operations, as well as the growing and wholesaling of home grown products. Additionally, Lary's daughter, Jill Eckert-Tantillo is Vice-President of Marketing and Food Services. Angie Eckert, Chris’s wife, is Vice-President of Retail Operations for both the Country Store and the Garden Center. The mission of the Eckert companies is to create unique family experiences and lasting memories. We will accomplish our mission by maintaining the long established proud Eckert family tradition of providing our guests with quality products and friendly service within a unique country atmosphere.
