Sun Devil Satellite Lab is a student organization at Arizona State University that designs, builds, tests, and launches satellites and satellite-adjacent hardware. Our mission is to prepare student engineers to contribute effectively to the space industry by giving them hands-on experience designing real spacecraft hardware. Members work with industry standard documentation, design reviews, testing requirements, integration, and engineering software to learn how spacecraft are fully developed. SDSL also emphasizes open-source development allowing much of our work to be shared with the aerospace community. The organization's history includes work connected to missions such as Phoenix, Coconut, LightCube, DORA, and CANSAT, continuing a student-led tradition of building spaceflight hardware and expanding access to spacecraft engineering at ASU.
