We offer heat lamps in the rooms located near the shower, as we understand that some dementias make it hard for a person to maintain the body heat. We offer shelving units without door closer so that the person with memory loss can easily locate and identify clothing. We have placed sensors in the resident's rooms so we know when they rise from their beds and enter the bath. This function serves two purposes; it alerts the nurse station that they are up and moving which allows them to check on the person and ensure their safety, and it allows the person to sleep all night with no disruption unless needed. Our highly-trained staff works with residents to understand their need for normalcy and respects their need to be bathed and groomed when and how it is appropriate for the person. Activities of daily living options can be tailored to fit the person with memory loss, and how the perceive their reality. Breakfast can be attended in appropriate pajamas, as well as a cocktail for dinner if approved by a physician's order. The attention to family member's needs are equally embraced by the staff, to ensure that their wants and needs are met, as well as assisting them to understand the way developing education opportunities help to create peace and acceptance of the ever changing and progressive nature of memory loss. We offer a continuum of care with our trained nursing staff and on call doctor visits, which brings peace of mind to families and residents who need extra assistance with other issues of health. Our residents have access to a wide variety of amenities and programming options to keep them active and engaged in daily life, including arts and crafts classes, movie nights, and many chances for family and holiday celebrations. Belleview Heights Alzheimer's Special Care Center brings together the very best Alzheimer's care in Aurora, CO, with our Meaningful Moments® program paired with our active and engaged staff members.
