Suffolk Mind Information

Suffolk Mind is an independent charity whose mission is to make the county the world's best place for talking about and taking care of mental health. To meet that mission, we provide a range of wellbeing services, courses and resources for individuals, schools, workplaces and community groups. This includes counselling services, mental health support groups, and wellbeing training for organisations. A number of our services are open for self-referral. To influence what we do, we use the Emotional Needs and Resources approach: that we all have physical and emotional needs, along with a set of skills and resources we’re born with to meet those needs. The 12 needs comprise three physical needs for Sleep, Movement and Food & Drink, and the remaining nine emotional needs. These are: Attention, Control, Emotional Connection, Respect, Achievement, Security, Community, Meaning & Purpose and Privacy. Start meeting your needs today.
