SÜDWIND e.V. Information

Our vision is economic, social and ecological justice around the world. Our research and activities strive towards fair economic relations. The experiences of the poor and their concerns are what guides our thinking. We are committed to fighting discrimination against women. We uncover unjust structures, raise awareness and campaign for change. We develop tools and lines of action for Development organisations, Churches, Trade unions, Politics and Businesses. Our actions are based on the relationship between justice, peace and the integrity of creation. SÜDWIND was founded 1991 in Cologne. The founding and its naming were inspired by the U.S. theologian Jim Wallis at the Ecumenical World Assembly in Seoul 1990: ”Tomorrow, it will be the south wind (German: SÜDWIND) of justice and liberation that breaks the chains of the oppressed.”
