Subtopia Information

In Botkyrka south of Stockholm lies the creative cluster, Subtopia. This is where artists, film producers, circus companies, NGOs, bands and other makers follow their dreams and try to make the world a little better. Subtopia is the hub in this network of ideas and people. We house about 80 organizations, companies and NGOs and 200 people come to work here everyday. In the 14 000sqm of spaces that Subtopia consist of you will find studios for filmmaking and TV, the contemporary circus stage Hangaren Subtopia, an open office for cultural entrepreneurs, spaces for conferences, concerts and much more. Subtopia as an organization is involved and a catalyst in different projects ranging from circus productions, urban (or in this case suburban) development, workshops to commercial events. The main purpose of our organization is developing the creative cluster and illuminating the possibilities with cluster generated ideas and production. We are the core catalyst in the municipality of Botkyrka’s commitment to the arts and entertainment industry. Subtopia is a part of the municipally owned company Upplev Botkyrka AB.
