SubQ Six Information

The Subcutaneous Structure Imager (SSI) is a small, portable imaging device patented by NASA Glenn Research Center that uses near-infrared light to help providers clearly see veins before inserting a needle, turning trial and error into precision. Unlike bulky ultrasound machines, it's affordable, battery-powered, and usable anywhere, from clinics to ambulances to disaster areas. We're a team of students from Crummer Graduate School of Business, each with our own background in Business, the Fine Arts, Computer Science, and Psychology, who chose to collaborate with NASA's Technology Transfer Program to explore how their space technology can be translated into real impact in the healthcare system. We help medical providers ensure the safety and comfort of their patients by allowing for quick, easy vein access, even in complicated cases.
