Founded in 1877, the Columbia Daily Spectator delivers news daily to thousands of readers around Columbia University, Morningside Heights, West Harlem, and beyond. Content is published five days a week during the academic year, as well as in a biweekly print edition, and offers news, arts commentary, sports coverage, and photos from around campus and New York City, in conjunction with our blog, Spectrum, and our monthly arts and features magazine, The Eye. We are the second-oldest college daily paper in the country and have been financially independent from the University since 1962.
The Daily Pennsylvanian is the independent student-run newspaper of the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to publishing daily on our website at theDP.com and a printed newspaper Mondays and Thursdays during the school year, the company also publishes 34th Street Magazine (online at 34st.com and in print weekly on Wednesdays), and campus humor website Under The Button (at UnderTheButton.com). The DP Alumni Association (DPAA) connects the community of DP alumni and current students.
Founded January 28, 1878, the Yale Daily News is the nation's oldest college daily newspaper. The News now publishes Monday through Friday during the academic year and serves the communities of Yale University and New Haven, Connecticut. In addition to the daily newspaper, the News publishes scene, a Friday supplement with reviews and articles about arts and culture, and Sports Monday, a Monday section providing expanded, in-depth sports coverage. The News also publishes several special-occasion issues every year, including the Parent's Weekend issue, the Harvard-Yale Game issue, the Freshman issue and the Commencement issue.
The News is produced by a very dedicated, all-volunteer undergraduate staff. Most of our reporters are freshmen and sophomores, while the editorial board is, with few exceptions, comprised of juniors
