Studium helps schools bring agreeable disagreement into the classroom. We build programs that give students and teachers the tools to engage with challening topics through practicable discourse, civic literacy, and primary source engagement. Our flagship program is High School Law Review (HSLR), a supplemental social studies curriculum now used in schools across the Unted States. Students learn constitutional law through Supreme Court cases, working through majority and dissenting opinions, and writing their own arguments. They publish that work and defend it through our Local, State, and National Law Reviews. These skills and experiences matter because the numbers are stark. 70% of 12th graders say they have never written a letter to give an opinion or solve a problem. Half of teachers say they shut down classroom conversations when things get heated. These skills they need for college, work, and civic life are the same ones that are becoming increasingly difficult to foster. Studium exists to be the agent of change for that. Our programs are standards-aligned and classroom-ready, built with and for teachers. Teachers get structure, training, and a community to lean on. Students get to do the actual work of thinking in public.
