Studio Plesungan was founded in 2012 by Melati Suryodarmo, a performance artist, choreographer, and lecturer. Drawing from her extensive experience in organizing, facilitating, and curating various artistic programs internationally, Melati established the studio in Plesungan as a shared creative space for fellow artists. Her goal was to foster the independence of their creative processes, supporting them in both the creation and presentation of their work.
