Studio-34 Information

Internationally renowned, Istanbul-based multidisciplinary design studio Studio-34 was founded in 2007 by Ayşe Teke Mingü and Tülin Atamer Karaağaç. Studio-34 works across interiors, product and experiential design, forging a reputation for thoughtfulness, experimentation and craftsmanship. Studio-34’s approach to interior architecture is not superficial or purely for effect. As a practice, we seek foundation in the basics of human life (the client), and nature (the site/ environment). This inspires our designs and how we create spaces. Through a continuous and careful dialogue with structure, details, material and order, we seek a holistic and tectonic approach in realising the architectural ideas. Technology permits our architecture, but our architecture is not defined by it. Instead it helps us to build efficiently in a way that is integral to the architecture as well as being sustainable. Approaching each project initially as storytellers, our work seeks to understand the character and context of each project. Each element is informed by a uniquely space-centric approach, blending wit with sophistication, and minimal forms with rich materials.
