Student Spots is a Boston-area marketplace for student subleases. Every year, students across 50+ Boston-area campuses leave for a summer internship, a co-op, or a semester abroad — and pay rent on an empty room because handing off a lease means a Facebook group, a group chat, and a landlord who never signed off. Meanwhile, students arriving mid-year can’t find anything shorter than twelve months. We built the infrastructure that makes the handoff work. Listings require a .edu-verified account, an uploaded master lease, and the lister’s written confirmation of landlord approval. Every agreement is signed on-platform with a full audit trail. A 32-day minimum stay keeps listings clear of Massachusetts short-term rental rules. We do not hold deposits. Founded in 2025 and based in Boston, working with students and housing offices at BU, Northeastern, Boston College, Bentley, and across 21 Boston-area campuses.
