The Student International Business Council seeks to fulfill its vision of “Peace Through Commerce” by interacting with internationally recognized firms and organizations. This is accomplished by educating its members on the different aspects of international business through projects, case competitions and international internships. Beginning as a global forum within the business college in 1989, the SIBC has become the largest student-run organization on campus, with nearly 3,000 members from the University of Notre Dame, Holy Cross College and St. Mary’s College. The Council offers its members a variety of opportunities based on their interests, including over 60 academic projects each semester across the Council's five functional divisions: Accounting, Consulting, Finance, Marketing, and STEM. SIBC has also partnered with international universities – including China's Peking University, Brazil's Unicamp, and England's University of Oxford – to provide valuable international opportunities for members and frequently sponsors members to participate in summer internships around the globe.
