Strong Girls Inc. Information

Strong Girls Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Problem Girls with limited financial resources and community support in Miami-Dade County face obstacles that prevent them from getting the most from their education which leads to poor academic performance, risky social behavior, a lack of job skills and little likelihood of wages above poverty. Poverty doesn’t just prevent access to resources and opportunities, it strips away a person’s dignity. Alone, these girls stand little chance of breaking out of poverty. Our Solution Our research-based after-school curriculum taught by certified facilitators will provide the missing link to help the most at-risk girls navigate successfully through school, empowering them to develop employable skills and break the cycle of poverty. Our program builds skills in social and emotional learning and provides access to resources to ensure the highest chances of success, including academic support, cultural and career-related excursions, high achieving peer mentors and diverse women role models. Our comprehensive 10-year model levels the playing field so that all girls can thrive in school and in their lives regardless of socio-economic background.
