Strengthening Practice Information

Since 2007 Strengthening Practice (Previously Child Centred Practice) has been dedicated to providing innovative consultancy and training services to help practitioners who work with children achieve levels of excellence. Working with practitioners across a wide range of service areas, Strengthening Practice supports continuing professional development within the work place through coaching, workshops on the core skills, project management and capturing information about what matters most for children and families. We provide services across four key areas: training; practice tools; consulting; and independent assessments. Please refer to our website for more details of our services. Training is the mainstay of our business. We design and provide customised training programmes guiding staff through legislative and conceptual frameworks, in order to understand how this knowledge applies to the practical daily activities within the context of their organisation and local policies and procedures. Whilst seminars and workshops are important traditional training methods, our aim is to help build excellence. We optimise results with an additional tool kit: case clinics; coaching sessions; rehearsal; promoting excellence diary; networking tutorials; evaluation; promoting excellence handbooks.
