Strategic Solution Architects (Pty) Ltd (or “SSA”), an organisation that evolved from the success of Sybase SA, was established in October 2012. Sybase SA was a highly successful organisation that enjoyed 22 years of profitable trading in Southern Africa. It came as no surprise then that Sybase Inc., the international Sybase organisation and a USD 6 billion NYSC software company, made an offer to acquire Sybase SA in April 2010. This acquisition transaction was barely concluded when SAP acquired Sybase Inc shortly afterwards. The two principals of Sybase SA, namely Alan Cowley and Wayne Borcher, were appointed as Head of SAP Database Business for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Head of SAP Database Business for Africa, respectively. The drive and passion that Alan and Wayne shared could not be contained in a large corporate such as SAP and a decision was taken to start a new journey into the exciting world of data intelligence. SSA is the culmination of extraordinary talent whose executive team share more than 170 years of experience, together with a passion for entrepreneurial business development.
