The RAD is one of the world’s most influential dance education and training organisations. With its global headquarters in London, the RAD works locally and around the world to bring dance to diverse communities, widen access to dance and share the benefits and wellbeing that dance brings. With a strong global membership presence in over 85 countries, each year around 250,000 dancers learn the RAD syllabus and take exams. Over 1,000 students are enrolled in in-person and distance-learning dance teacher training programmes. The RAD empowers people through dance education and enjoyment and believes that ‘every body’ should have the opportunity to learn to dance.

AXIS’ artistry redefines dance and disability by collaborating with disabled and non-disabled artists to create virtuosic productions that challenge the perceptions of dance and disability. AXIS strives to create a radically inclusive dance sector and world by removing barriers and showcasing the beauty of difference. Founded in 1987, AXIS is the nation’s most acclaimed ensembles of disabled and non-disabled performers based in Oakland, CA. In 1998, Judith Smith took over Artistic Direction, and visioning a repertory company quickly trajected AXIS into the dance world with a commission by Bill T. Jones. Under her direction until 2017, AXIS toured to over 100 cities in the USA, Israel, UK, Europe and Russia. The Company has received seven Isadora Duncan Dance Awards and has appeared twice on FOX TV’s So You Think You Can Dance, exposing integrated dance to millions. In 2017, AXIS appointed acclaimed international choreographer and dancer Marc Brew to the position of Artistic Director. Marc Brew comes to AXIS with over 20 years of performance and Artistic Direction experience. Alongside our artistic performance program the Company provides unparalleled integrated dance education and outreach programs. From recreational to professional training, AXIS builds access to dance education for people of all ages with and without disabilities.

A multi-award winning choreographer and a leading force in British dance theatre, Jasmin Vardimon MBE has built a reputation for challenging, exciting and visually stunning dance. Vardimon continues to add to the body of critically acclaimed work both for her company she formed in 1997 and other leading arts & educational institutions across the world. An associate artist of Sadler’s Wells since 2006, Vardimon has also been recognised by The International Theatre Institute (ITI) receiving the prestigious award for Excellence in International Dance (2013), in recognition of her recent outstanding choreographic work. Vardimon’s contributions to dance and theatre were also recognised by Royal Holloway, University of London, receiving an Honorary Doctorate in 2014. Renowned for her uniquely theatrical choreographic & directorial style combining physical theatre, quirky characterisation, innovative technologies, text and dance, Vardimon accentuates her work with an acute observation of human behaviour. With sharp instincts and provocative daring, she has developed an individual choreographic voice, distinguished by her beautifully detailed movement, insightful humour and engaging drama.
