Stoa Advisory is the vehicle for the Non-Executive Director and strategic advisory work of David Hunt. David works with founders, investors, and boards across the energy and mobility transition, with a particular focus on leadership, organisational design, and the challenges of scaling companies in complex, capital-intensive sectors. A two-time founder, David has been active in cleantech for nearly 20 years. He previously built and exited a solar energy business, and has since worked closely with founders, investors, and leadership teams across hundreds of companies in the sector. Today, he brings that perspective to board and advisory roles, supporting organisations as they grow and evolve. In addition, David brings over 30 years of experience in executive search, including more than a decade focused exclusively on cleantech. This provides a unique perspective on leadership and organisational dynamics — from talent retention and high-performing cultures, to succession planning and efficient organisational structures. He has seen firsthand where companies succeed, and where they struggle, often identifying people and leadership challenges before they become critical blockers to growth.
