Caritas Switzerland prevents, alleviates and fights against poverty in Switzerland and worldwide in around 20 countries. Together with the regional Caritas organisations, Caritas works to support people who are affected by poverty in Switzerland: families, single parents, the unemployed, the working poor. Caritas Switzerland has a range of offers in the areas of fighting poverty, asylum and integration. Globally, Caritas Switzerland provides emergency relief in disasters and helps with reconstruction. With its projects in development cooperation, Caritas is active in the fields of income, climate and migration for children and adults. Caritas advocates a society based on solidarity and a policy that takes socially disadvantaged people in Switzerland and abroad into account. Caritas is involved with analyses and statements on climate, social, migration and development policy. Caritas Switzerland is an independent association with its Head Office in Lucerne and a member of the international Caritas network, which comprises 160 organisations throughout the world.

Die Aktion Mensch setzt sich für das selbstverständliche Zusammenleben von Menschen mit und ohne Behinderung ein. Menschen mit und ohne Behinderung sollen ganz selbstverständlich zusammenleben: in der Schule, bei der Arbeit und in der Freizeit. Sie sollen selbst entscheiden, wie sie leben wollen. Und sie sollen die Möglichkeit haben, ihre Fähigkeiten zu zeigen. Damit alle Menschen überall dabei sein können, müssen Barrieren verschwinden. Das heißt zum Beispiel: wo Treppen sind, müssen auch Rampen oder Aufzüge sein. Texte von Ämtern oder Informationen im Internet sollten leicht zu lesen sein. Mit den Einnahmen aus ihrer Soziallotterie unterstützt die Aktion Mensch jeden Monat bis zu 1.000 soziale Projekte für Menschen mit Behinderung, Kinder und Jugendliche. Damit ist sie die größte private Förderorganisation im sozialen Bereich in Deutschland. Mit Aktionen und Kampagnen informiert sie die Menschen über das selbstverständliche Zusammenleben. Samaritans Switzerland is a rescue organisation of the SRC based in Olten. It promotes the use of volunteers in rescue, health and social services and ensures that first aid and support is provided to people who have had accidents or are ill. With spontaneous or supplementary care and nursing missions, the SSB fills gaps in the network of social institutions. It promotes health awareness and accident prevention. In Switzerland, more than 20,000 Samaritans are involved in around 900 local Samaritan associations and a good 2,800 young people in 130 Samaritan youth groups.
