sticklab is a small architecture practice grounded in the belief that thoughtful, modern design should enrich everyday life. Our mission is to create architecture that is personal, inventive, grounded, and generous. We're striving to create spaces that elevate daily life and can contribute meaningfully to a community. Working primarily in the Pacific Northwest, we create custom residential architecture that is closely tailored to its clients and deeply connected to the landscape. Our work emphasizes comfort, durability, and sustainability, all qualities we see as inseparable from beauty and long-term impact. Innovation in our practice grows from curiosity and experimentation. Alongside residential work, we design and fabric public art installations and interactive sculptures sometimes in collaboration with a not-for-profit open-to-all art collective we established locally. These creative efforts continually challenge established ideas and keep our design thinking fresh. They also broaden our understanding of placemaking, helping us imagine new spatial experiences at a range of scales. Our ideal project is one where architecture and art are developed in dialogue; where the home becomes not only a place to live but a collaborative expression shared with the client. While we pursue ambitious ideas, we balance them with the pragmatism necessary to deliver work that is accessible and responsible. We strive to make custom design available to a wider range of clients, responding to the social and economic challenges of contemporary housing while reducing environmental impact through durable materials, energy-conscious planning, and thoughtful site engagement.
