De milieudruk van textiel is zeer fors. Het verlagen van die druk is noodzakelijk en milieuwinst is overal in de keten mogelijk: bij producenten, modebedrijven, consumenten, inzamelaars en recyclers. Vanuit een gedeelde visie over deze noodzaak hebben 6 Twentse organisaties elkaar gevonden en Stichting TexPlus opgericht. Stichting TexPlus is een samenwerking tussen Het Goed, Twente Milieu, Kringloopbedrijf De Beurs, Enschede Textielstad, Saxion, Frankenhuis en SaXcell. Het doel van Stichting TexPlus bestaat eruit de keten van inzameling tot hergebruik te verbinden. Dit door hergebruik van textiele producten te stimuleren en met innovatieve technieken niet-herbruikbare textiele producten zo hoogwaardig mogelijk te recyclen, waarbij de markt actief betrokken wordt bij de ontwikkeling en toepassing van gerecyclede textiele materialen.
