Dutch Council for Refugees advocates for the rights of refugees and helps them build a new life in the Netherlands. We are an independent organization with over 8,000 volunteers dedicated to protecting people who have been forced to leave their homes due to war, political violence, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or religion. Helping people in need. That's what the Red Cross stands for. With the largest volunteer aid network in the world, we are ready to help those who need us most. We respond to disasters, conflicts and emergencies. With national societies in 191 countries, we are always close by. Also in the Netherlands we are ready for action. About 10,000 volunteers and 106,000 people in our civil aid network Ready2Help are committed to helping people in need. Has a fire broke out in a flat? We take care of the residents. Sprain your ankle during a race? Chances are you will meet our emergency workers at the first aid post. Want to know what to do if your child chokes? Humanitas is er voor mensen die op eigen kracht iets willen doen aan een situatie. Bij ons vind je de tools om weer verder te kunnen. Ruim 18000 goed getrainde vrijwilligers bieden nu gratis professionele steun op maat aan ruim 57.800 deelnemers. Deze steun bieden wij binnen zes verschillende thema's: eenzaamheid, verlies, opvoeden, opgroeien, detentie en thuisadministratie. Humanitas werkt kleinschalig en persoonlijk. De contacten zijn van mens tot mens en worden lokaal georganiseerd.
