Stepping Out Program Information

Stepping Out Program is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation with 40 years of experience supporting women who are adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and living with the lifelong impacts of complex trauma. We support survivors through a blend of clinical expertise, trauma-informed therapeutic programs, and practical assistance. By creating safe and supportive spaces, we help people feel heard, believed, and connected- reducing isolation and promoting healing, resilience, and recovery. Our services include social inclusion groups, trauma recovery, parenting and somatic healing workshops, specialist counselling, assistance accessing Victims Services counselling, and referrals to other support services as needed. We also deliver education and training for frontline workers and community organisations to strengthen understanding of childhood sexual abuse and complex trauma, and to build best-practice responses for supporting survivors. All groups are free of charge to remove any barriers to participation. Groups are run in Marrickville in Sydney and some are available online. Through a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach, we support women to reduce isolation, build resilience, and create meaningful change in their lives.
