Stepney Youth was founded in 2020 during the midst of the Covid19 pandemic with the purpose of creating a platform for young individuals all across the local borough of Tower Hamlets, based in East London. Our aim and values have been about representing our Youth, our Community and a Brotherhood which we have formed over the years to help build key relationships with the younger generation. Since our establishment, we are proud to have gained our status as an FA England Football Accredited Club and have been involved in numerous community and charity fundraising projects as well as competing in well known amateur football leagues, giving our youth the pathway to play at senior level. Our organisation’s focus is to create a positive environment and influence for young individuals from deprived neighbourhoods and help address the ongoing issues within our society, due to the rise of gangs, violence, drugs and domestic troubles increasing over the past few years. Our objective is to tackle antisocial behaviour within our local areas by working with the youth and helping to provide the support needed to build a better future for young disadvantaged individuals. Our mentors do this by providing careers advice and educational support and teaching life skills to further develop personal growth where needed throughout their journey from teenagers to becoming young adults. We understand and recognise that growing up in a deprived home may not always be a ‘home’, however, Stepney Youth will always be a home for any young individual to be apart of.
