Wilderness Inquiry connects people of all ages, backgrounds, identities, and abilities to shared outdoor adventures so that all people can equitably experience the benefits of time spent in nature. Through outdoor adventures and programs designed for both individuals and groups, we inspire personal growth, enhanced awareness of the environment, and community belonging.

The practical application of Christian Science is as much our mission today as it was under Cap and Marianne Andrew’s leadership over 60 years ago. Whether it’s at the A/U Ranches Youth, Adult & Family Programs, 100 Elk Outdoor Center or DiscoveryBound's Outreach events, the National Leadership Council or the Compass program for high school teens, we seek to provide inspiring recreational, leadership, service, educational and social activities for Christian Scientists and their friends, to nurture healing and a sense of community, in an atmosphere conducive to practical reliance on Christian Science. Adventure Unlimited, headquartered in Greenwood Village, CO (Denver), supports the administrative functions for the A/U Ranches and DiscoveryBound. The A/U Ranches, located in Buena Vista, CO, is a cornerstone of our programming. The supportive and loving atmosphere cultivates confidence and develops moral courage for Christian Science youth, adults, families and their friends of all faiths. The 100 Elk Outdoor Center, a public program of the A/U Ranches, provides outdoor education and character development programs for schools and groups in the fall and spring. We offer exceptional ways to enjoy the wonder of Colorado’s Collegiate Peaks and the Arkansas River valley while expanding each participant’s sense of self, community and the environment. DiscoveryBound serves Christian Scientists and the greater community through fellowship in a healing and inspiring atmosphere, which encourages growth in an understanding of Christian Science and service to the world. Vision: That all individuals with physical disabilities have access to participation in outdoor sports regardless of location, equipment needs and economic status. Mission: To provide progressive outdoor sports opportunities to improve quality of life for children, adults and veterans with physical disabilities and their families. History: Adaptive Adventures was founded in 1999 by two individuals with physical disabilities. They saw a need for adventure and sport opportunities outside of competitive adaptive sports for people with physical disabilities. Adaptive Adventures has served over 100,000 participants and their families from all 50 states. Overview: Adaptive Adventures main office is located in Lakewood, Colorado with a satellite office in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. Adaptive Adventures provides ongoing programs, camps and clinics in cycling, climbing, kayaking, paddleboarding, skiing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, sailing, scuba, rafting and dragon boat racing. Adaptive Adventures offers a unique mobile program. Unlike site based adaptive sports programs, Adaptive Adventures travels the country with 14 trailers filled with adaptive equipment providing programs to underserved areas of the country. Adaptive Adventures provides programs in 23 states, collaborating with over 80 community partners across the country including; rehab hospitals, park districts, VA medical centers, military hospitals, veteran service organizations, and other adaptive sport programs. We believe in FREEDOM through Mobility for our participants and in our program structure. Adaptive Adventures programming is offered to participants and their families free of charge or significantly subsidized. Adaptive Adventures believes cost should never be a barrier to someone's participation in quality outdoor adaptive sport opportunities.
