Stem Foundations Information

STEM Foundations is a coaching program that specializes in laying the groundwork for children ages 6-12 years of age in STEM: science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The program is technology based and takes an inquiry approach to teaching STEM; ensuring that children are able to make noticeable connections across all four content areas. Students will be exposed to activities that replicate real-world problems and require STEM-based solutions. These are technologies your kids are going to love. Participants are exposed to some of the academic worlds most well-loved technologies that have statistically been proven to stimulate the mind and enhance student understanding of STEM in years to come. All of the technologies STEM Foundations endorses are open source and are available at public libraries, schools and local Maker Spaces within the community; so kids can move forward and continue their learning, beyond the completion of the program. In addition to the technology, participants are provided a project coach to facilitate the learning process. The project coach will ensure that participants are enjoying their work, staying on task, making connections, working at an appropriate level of difficulty, while allotted the opportunity to ask questions and receive feedback on their work.
