Steer North is a registered health promotion charity whose purpose is to inspire and empower people to live healthy and active lives. By cycling through regional and rural Australia, Steer North creates a mobile community that cultivates capacity, inspires ideas, stimulates action and advances health from the grassroots up. Our mission is: • To inspire people to live active and creative lives. • To support those living with chronic diseases and the institutions that care for them. • To advance health by leading and advocating for health promotion policies and programs. Our signature event is an annual 4000 km cycling journey from Melbourne, Victoria to Cairns, Queensland. With a cycling route that captures over 65% of the Australian population, the Steer North Ride engages large and small communities across Australia in the aim of inspiring and empowering young adults to live healthy and active lives.
