Jerre and Mary Joy Stead formed the Stead Foundation to partner with nonprofits poised to make societal impact and to date has granted more than $400 million to healthcare, education, faith-based organizations, and related causes. Stead Impact Ventures was founded in 2023 by Jerre Stead as an extension of this commitment with the mission to invest with responsibility and purpose in innovators whose ideas will positively change the course of health and wellbeing. Together, the Stead Foundation and Stead Impact Ventures create a perpetual relationship between impactful philanthropy and successive profitability. Stead Impact Ventures is led by Board Chair Jerre Stead, who has served as CEO of 10 public corporations including Clarivate, IHS Inc., IHS Markit, Ltd, Ingram Micro, Legent Corporation, and Square D. Over his 42-year career he has achieved average annual shareholder returns exceeding 22% while serving on 36 corporate and 27 nonprofit boards. Stead Impact Ventures is headed by CEO Tiffani Shaw, who has served in leadership roles in public accounting, higher education, foundations and nonprofits, and publicly traded companies.
