Starts with One (SWO) is a federally registered and community-led non-profit organization based in Toronto, ON. Since 2015, SWO programs have focused on improving access to academic support, technology donations, and testing support for low-income and newcomer Canadians in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Prevailing structural inequalities in the Canadian education system motivate our community initiatives and mutual aid principles. Currently, 71 students and 41 families are enrolled in the E-learning Program, and from 2020-2022, we have donated $3397 in textbooks, technology, and E-learning program resources.
