Staple Designs is a UK-based product innovation company focused on developing practical, scalable solutions for real-world humanitarian and operational challenges. The company specialises in end-to-end product development, from problem identification and concept strategy through to prototyping, manufacturing, and real-world deployment. Staple Designs has designed and developed the world’s first flat-pack humanitarian wood-burning stoves engineered specifically for deployment in conflict-affected and infrastructure-limited regions. The product has been developed through 12 iterative development cycles and taken from concept to production-ready deployment in under 12 months. The company’s work covers the full product lifecycle, including: 🔍 Product Strategy & Problem Discovery – Identifying real-world operational challenges and translating them into practical product opportunities 🛠️ Prototyping, Testing & Iteration – Developing and refining physical prototypes through continuous testing, user feedback, and real-world validation 💻 Engineering & Manufacturability – Using CAD, material selection, and manufacturing optimisation to create scalable, deployment-ready products 🚚 Deployment & Operational Delivery – Coordinating logistics, partnerships, and field deployment to ensure products could be delivered effectively in high-risk environments In October 2024, Staple Designs set up Heat for Humanity 🔥 — a humanitarian deployment project responsible for distributing Staple Designs’ stove systems to communities affected by the war in Ukraine. This included live field deployments, local partnership coordination, and continuous product improvement informed by real-world use. Heat for Humanity now continues independently, building on the foundations established through Staple Designs.
