Actors' Equity Association (“Equity"), founded in on May 26, 1913, is the U.S. labor union that represents more than 51,000 professional Actors and Stage Managers. Equity fosters the art of live theatre as an essential component of society and advances the careers of its members by negotiating wages, improving working conditions and providing a wide range of benefits, including health and pension plans. Actors' Equity is a member of the AFL-CIO and is affiliated with FIA, an international organization of performing arts unions. Equity is governed by its own members through an elected Council, representing principal actors, chorus actors and stage managers living in three regions: Eastern, Central and Western. Members at large participate in Equity’s governance through a system of regional Boards and Committees. Equity has 28 designated area liaison cities with over 100 members each. Equity’s President is Kate Shindle. Mary McColl is Executive Director. Actors’ Equity Association offices are located in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles and Orlando. Founded in 1961, Theatre Communications Group's mission is to strengthen, nurture, and promote the professional nonprofit theatre. TCG's membership includes over 750 Theatres and Affiliates and 12,000 individuals nationwide. Led by the core values of Artistry, Diversity, Activism, and Global Citizenship, TCG offers networking, knowledge building, grantmaking, performing arts advocacy, capacity building, professional development, and conducts research to assess the field's changing needs. TCG strengthens the theatre ecology through the publication of American Theatre and its TCG Books program, which has over 3,000 titles in print, including 19 Pulitzer Prize-winning plays. In 2005, TCG received the Tony Award for Excellence in Theatre in recognition of its impact on the national field.

USITT, the United States Institute for Theatre Technology, provides a place where professionals from the entertainment design and technology industry can network, expand their skills, and be energized by their colleagues around the world. Established in 1960, USITT is the place where the performing arts community gathers. From the architects who design the spaces to those who manufacture and distribute products, to those who create and manage productions -- all are welcome and share their expertise at USITT.
