St Raphael Information

St Raphael, Nicholas and Irene Liverpool Church is one of the parishes of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, headed by His Eminence Archbishop Stylianos, and under the jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. St Raphael, Nicholas and Irene's church is a beautiful basilica style building which stands elegant and tall in Liverpool. This parish belong to thousands of Greek Orthodox Christians in the south west suburbs of Sydney. This church was first established in 1967, with Father Chris Vergos as the parish priest. This has been a long established parish in Liverpool, where believers congregate to worship God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, and to venerate the most Holy Mother of God, Panagia, Mother Mary and all the saints and Angels of our faith. This parish is also home to a close community that easily extends its warm embrace to any newcomers.
