St. Lawrence Centre Information

The St. Lawrence Centre Arena was constructed in 1997 to serve as Massena's only year-round ice skating and events facility serving the communites of Upstate NY and Canada. Featuring an NHL sized ice rink with bleacher seating for 1200, the St. Lawrence Centre Arena has been able to host state tournaments, youth and adult hockey leagues and tournaments, junior hockey, exhibition games, broomball leagues, as well as non-ice events such as circuses, music concerts, expos, craft and home shows, professional wrestling, amateur boxing, and amateur mixed martial arts events. We're the only arena in the area able to convert from an ice rink to a heated event center within a few hours, and back to an ice arena hours after an event. The arena features public restrooms, four public locker rooms, and two community rooms which are able to be combined into one large room with seating for up to 50. The bleachers are located on one side of the rink and have their own heating system. During the first year of operation the arena began to operate a 3-on-3 hockey league which eventually became Northern NY's largest organized league. At it's peak the league has had over 600 players in 62 teams with players coming from 3 counties in Upstate NY, the Mohawk Nation at Akwesasne, and two provinces of Canada in the youth divisions. The St. Lawrence Centre Arena continues to operate this league every year. The arena has been home to a number of youth hockey programs over the years including the Ice Hawks Hockey Clinic, Showtime Hockey Camp, Huron Hockey Camp, North Country Stars Hockey School, and Robby Glantz International Power Skating Camp. Over the last 5 years the arena has created a number of their own successful programs including Learn to Play Hockey for beginners, and various year-round clinics and camps for youth hockey players. Most notable is the summer 5-on-5 hockey leagues for Squirt, Peewee, Bantam, and Midget level players.
