Dishoom is proud to be recognised as one of the best places to work in hospitality. Looking after people is at the core of what we do, and we work hard to make life at Dishoom the best it can be. Our view is that it’s part of human nature to care about making people happy. We all care about this deeply. We call this Seva. Seva means having a big, warm heart. Seva means we don’t just serve people, we take them in and look after them to the very best of our ability – guests and team alike.
Alongside running busy sites with large teams, we also believe in doing more. Each year, we pledge to plant a tree for every Dishoom-walle, continue to break down barriers through our cultural events, and support children through our Meal for a Meal initiative. As of this year, we have donated 30 million meals (and counting) to children in the UK and India, with every Dishoomwalle contributing 55 meals per shift to this cause.
Since 2010, our cafés have celebrated all of the food and drink of Bombay. We currently have cafés across London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and soon to be Leeds! Our cafés are bustling spaces where people come together to break down barriers and share in a love of Bombay food and culture.
We have Permit Rooms in Brighton, Cambridge, Oxford, Portobello Road London and Liverpool. Our bar-cafés are lively spaces, woven into the fabric of their local communities. Our genuine love of people means you’ll always be welcomed with real warmth.
In 2011 the story began with four schoolmates on a rooftop in London. They came up with the idea to set up a restaurant where the focus was on perfecting the craft of just one or two main ingredients. In a small Irish pub in Mayfair, the first Burger & Lobster was born.
Since then, we have been bringing wild lobsters and prime cut burgers to fun and passionate personalities around the world who share our appetite for creativity. Simplicity is at the core of the Burger & Lobster concept, with respect for great food and quality service.
Today, we craft prime burgers, serve wild, fresh Atlantic lobsters and shake up a tempting cocktail list.
Burger and Lobster currently have multiple sites in London, New York, Dubai, Bangkok, Malaysia’s Genting Highlands and Kuwait City.
We were also one of the first restaurant groups in the UK to publish our gender pay gap figures and we’re not surprised to realise that we didn’t have one. Our pay structure is based on role level, not gender, and we believe that is how it should be. So, why not join our ever-growing team as we continue to treat all of our colleagues equally and offer the same pay, reward, and career development opportunities to ensure that everyone has a successful career with us. Its just the Burger & Lobster way.
Our mission at Flat Iron is to make remarkable steak accessible to all. Not just that, we also try to look after all our guests as if they were old friends. Everyone is welcome.
To do that, we have an amazing team of great people who love what they do and love working at Flat Iron. So much so, that for three years in a row we have been voted one of the UK’s Top 100 Best Companies to work for. We have won many other awards but being listed as one of the best employers in the country is something we are incredibly proud of.
Our team is everything. If we select an amazing bunch of people, give them the training and the tools they need, then try to make Flat Iron the best place they have ever worked, we can’t go too far wrong.
We are always looking for great people to join the Flat Iron family.
We want people who are honest, decent and straightforward with each other and with our guests; passionate people who really care and know how to make our guests feel welcomed; people with an indie spirit who always want to make things better.
