St. Augustine Church Information

I am Fr. Chris Fagan, the Pastor of St. Augustine Church. We are a multicultural, multilingual, vibrant, and growing Roman Catholic community of faith, located in Culver City, CA. We have been serving the community of Culver City since our founding as a mission church in 1888; and our primary focus is to follow Jesus Christ, the Word of God made flesh, who brings us to the Father through the working of the Holy Spirit. We are committed to living the Gospel, celebrating the sacraments, and sharing the Good News with others and transforming our world through our commitment to social justice. No matter who you are, where you are from and where you are on your faith journey, you are welcome here, especially during these challenging times. Unfortunately, we have had to close our doors to adhere to the state guidelines for gatherings in places of worship. We hope and pray that this temporary measure and we will be back in our Church soon, but the safety and health of all our sisters and brothers is most important. Each of us must do our part in trying to minimize the risks from COVID-19. I understand the challenges of not being able to attend mass in the church, and with that in mind, we at St Augustine have been having "parking lot drive-in" mass on a limited schedule. We have completed our First Communion Sacraments and Sacraments of Confirmation. We hope to begin a new year of Sacramental Catechesis in March for our second year First Communion Program and our second year Confirmation Program. As the details are worked out and registration opens, we will have information posted on this website. There will still be many COVID-19 restrictions that we must follow when we celebrate these sacraments so that we can best to balance the safety requirements with the provision of sacraments. We appreciate you patience and support. Finally, we also began celebrating weekday masses on Tuesdays and Fridays at 5:30pm. Although we are not able to meet under the roof of St Augustine Church, we are seeing an increase in our parking lot attendance and continue to welcome each and everyone of you to join us in prayer in our Parking Lot. Please remember to check our website regularly for COVID-19 updates, news about the celebration of the sacraments, the revised weekday and Sunday Mass schedules, and other important information about our parish life.
