Motorsport is controlled worldwide by two governing bodies: the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) responsible for all forms of automobile sport, and the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), responsible for all categories of motorcycling. The Commission Internationale de Karting (CIK), forms part of the FIA. Both the FIA and FIM recognise only one National Federation in each country, with such Federation in turn being responsible for the control and administration of the sport in its own country. In South Africa, the FIA and FIM have transferred their sporting powers to Motorsport - South Africa (MSA) and all motorsporting events in the country are held in accordance with FIA and FIM Sporting Codes. South Africa is one of only a few countries responsible for the control of both car and motorcycle sporting events, with most other countries having separate governing bodies for the two disciplines. There has never been any discrimination in motorsport, and before any club's application for affiliation to MSA is considered, the club has to provide a copy of its Constitution to MSA, wherein it must be clearly stated that there will be no discrimination between race, colour, creed or religion within the club. The MSA Handbook further specifies this in the “Introduction” Section. RaceWorks.com was originally founded in the year 2001 to deliver the drag racing internet community a reliable source to download paint designs for the NHRA Drag Racing computer game. At the time, the domain name, "RaceWorks.com" only served this purpose with very minimal exposure outside of websites such as NitroSim.com and Moto1.net. The domain name "RaceWorks.com" was purchased in 2001 by Gary Rowe from a lady in Missouri who had no website to go along with her domain name. She previously had plans to have a website but things had fell through with her ideas getting it up and going. Rowe, the current owner of the highly respected website as you know it today paid $150 for the rights to take over ownership of the domain name "RaceWorks.com". Let's just say that value has defiantly gone up over the years. Just before the debut of "RaceWorks.com", Rowe had the website known as "DragWorks.com" up and running offering the NHRA Drag Racing game paint designs for download. After a few months simply playing around with web design, Rowe looked to purchase "RaceWorks.com" so the outreach of motorsports as a whole would be much broader included within a single domain name on the internet. The well known paint scheme designer, Eddie Hollon is to thank for all the great designs he would submit to "RaceWorks.com" giving the website much attention, thus allowing users worldwide to take note of the website design implemented by Gary Rowe. After doing the website solely for the paint design downloads, Rowe picked up the very first race track client for website design and maintenance, New Bern Motorsports Park, which is also the drag strip that Rowe grew up with thanks to his father, mother and older brother.
