SQLens is a forkable GitHub repository that acts as a dynamic ER Diagram for PostgreSQL databases. SQLens was created to streamline the time-consuming process of understanding table relationships in PostgreSQL databases. It aims to eliminate rework and project delays caused by the complexity of PostgreSQL, illuminating the interdependent relationships between tables and columns for efficient querying. To use SQLens, simply input your PostgreSQL database's URI string, and SQLens will generate an interactive ER diagram of all the tables, columns and id-foreign key relationships. Add, delete or edit columns straight from the diagram, and SQLens will update the diagram to reflect the changes. With these features, SQLens removes the need for manual updating of ER diagrams, reducing confusion and inefficiency caused by delays between database changes and diagram updates. SQLens also simplifies the automated ER update process with it intuitive and streamlined user interface, saving time compared to the visualizations offered by complex database administration software. We plan to further expand SQLens' capabilities to enhance clarity in PostgreSQL databases. If you or someone you know would like to contribute to SQLens, please contact us!
