SPROUT Coding Inc. Information

SPROUT (Science Programming & Uncommon Technologies), is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to bring STEM & professional development resources and knowledge to marginalized communities around the world. Our three month introductory coding curriculum is hands on and project based. While our students are learning core logic & programming skills, they're also developing the professional skills they need to enter the modern workforce. We train our students to become employees, and even hire some of them ourselves. At SPROUT, our introductory course is entirely free. A select group of graduates are then chosen to volunteer as assistant instructors before applying for paid positions. While teaching in the schools, all of our instructors continue learning our free, web/app development curriculum and have the chance to apply for a salaried developer position. Ultimately, we believe that knowledge transcends borders and that access to technology should be universal.
