Springfield High School offers programs to meet the needs of all students. For gifted students we offer several Advanced Placement courses: Calculus, English Language and Composition, English Literature and Composition, Statistics, Studio Art, U.S. History. We also have accelerated college prep courses (AC) in American Studies, 20th Century America (history) French, German, Spanish, and Honors Biology. For college-bound students our college prep (CP) courses provide for in-depth study. For students with learning difficulties, we have individualized classes in which basic skills are stressed (GEN). In most of our English and Social Studies classes, students are not grouped by ability. The River Valley Technical Center at Springfield offers extensive study in: Audio Engineering, Business Management, Carpentry, Computer Networking, Culinary Arts, Computer Aided Design CADD/Engineering, Principles of Engineering, Digital Design, Horticulture & Natural Resources, Health Careers, Human Services, Industrial Trades, Law Enforcement, Manufacturing, Emergency and Fire Managment, Law Enforcement, Hands On Computer System, and Technology Essentials.
