SPRING Accelerator Information

SPRING was a pioneering accelerator that supported businesses whose products and services transformed the lives of adolescent girls in East Africa and South Asia. SPRING started in 2015 and reached over 1,000,000 girls in 8 countries when it closed in September 2019. We believe the impact of successful entrepreneurs and the investment they stimulate will lead to a broader shift in markets that enable girls and their communities to end the cycle of poverty. We identify ventures with products that can improve the lives of girls and provide them with finance, world-class mentors, and leading expertise in business growth, human-centred design, innovation, and marketing to help drive their business models forward. Our global team consists of experts on girls, development, and impact-investing, together along with world-class designers. SPRING is a 5-year programme backed by the UK’s Department for International Development, the Nike Foundation, USAID and Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
