Every child deserves a dream for the future.
The circumstances that a child is born into shouldn’t affect their chance to reach their full potential.
Currently 1 in 3 children in Hull are living in poverty and this number is set to rise due to the affects of the pandemic. These children may not have access to the opportunities that other children have and many will spend their entire childhood within a mile of their homes.
We believe that all children should get to see beyond the end of their street and experience the world around them. We want to show children a world that allows them to dream. We inspire children to believe that they can achieve those dreams. We believe that every child is intelligent in different ways; they just need to opportunity to discover their hidden talents and ignite their aspirations for the future.
We provide learning experiences for children who would otherwise never get a chance to take part in them. Whether it is a trip to London to have a sleepover under the dinosaurs in the Natural History Museum or if it is visiting a local business to learn about that industry, all of our children leave these experiences happy, excited and with new aspirations that they will hopefully carry with them into adulthood. We aim to put the fire into their bellies that will help them to succeed!
We aspire to help children and young people build the relationships and skills they need to get on track socially, emotionally, and academically.
We do this by training and deploying school-based Link Workers who are mentors to at-risk young people, building strong relationships with teachers and families for a joined-up approach. Link Workers design and facilitate an individualised two-year plan for each young person, commissioning local community organisations to provide specialist services to help support specific goals.
