Spilværk Information

Spilværk is a business dedicated to designing the education of the future. Using creative production as a framework for 21st century learning, we help children and youth realize their ideas, utilizing technologies around them. Our specialty is using game development as a framework for learning design-thinking and playing with technology. Other projects include stop motion animation and makerspace technologies. Children today grow up as digital consumers, but for them to master technology they need to go underneath the surface and get creative. Making a game or an animated movie is a highly trans-disciplinary process, perfect for practicing complex problem-solving in a group setting. Teaching children design-thinking and agile development tools changes their way of working, making them braver and more willing to experiment. Our educational system should encourage innovation, yet many children are afraid of failing. By working with "fail faster" as a mantra, as well as using peer learning and frequent feedback, we can combat performance anxiety and foster fearless creativity. This is the core of Spilværk, and these are the ideas we want to implement in schools everywhere.
