Spherea: A 60-Year Legacy Spherea’s origins trace back to the electronics departments of Aerospatiale’s Aircraft Division where the first automatic test bench for Concorde was developed, as well as Aerospatiale Missiles and Sextant Avionics. These three entities were later merged to support major defence programs such as the RAFALE fighter jet and the LECLERC tank. This consolidation led to the creation of EADS Test & Services in 2000, coinciding with the formation of EADS. The organisation was integrated into the EADS Defence & Security Division and rebranded as Cassidian Test & Services in 2010, following the division’s transformation into Cassidian. With the establishment of the Airbus Group on January 1, 2014, and the restructuring of EADS Defence and Airbus Space, Test & Services seized the opportunity for a fresh start. Opening its capital to investors who shared its forward-looking vision, the company rebranded as Spherea in July 2014. This marked a new chapter focused on innovation, market expansion, and leadership in test and measurement solutions. Today, Spherea is present in six countries: France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, China, and India. The company is committed not only to maintaining its leadership in existing sectors but also to accelerating growth and expanding into new markets with the acquisition of Averna in 2026.
