Savills Private Finance was launched in 1997, rapidly growing into one of the market leaders in UK financial services. Savills Private Finance (SPF) was established as the financial services arm of Savills plc, the global real estate services provider, to advise the top end of the property market. SPF starts to diversify its offering by launching wealth management and commercial finance divisions staffed by specialists in their respective fields. Further expansion as the general insurance division launches to cover everything from houses and their contents to high-value motor, fine arts and jewellery and marine and aviation. Agricultural and international departments are established as SPF extends its reach to farms and estates, as well as overseas property purchasing. Channel Islands business launches following the acquisition of Guernsey-based business Goldridge de Beauvoir. SPFs 50,000th transaction completes. Majority interest in Savills Private Finance is sold to management and the business is rebranded as SPF Private Clients. SPF Short Term Finance launches, specialising in the best secured property finance in the market, including bridging, development and refurbishment finance as well as auction finance. New Homes division launches, arranging mortgages for clients purchasing high value new-build homes, from first-time buyers using a Government-sponsored scheme to investors with large property portfolios.
