Established in April 2012, Spatial Collective Limited is a Kenya-based geospatial innovation and technology consulting company. Our mission is to support communities and organizations in leveraging available technologies to collect essential data that holds significance to them. Working in challenging environments with limited existing data, we tackle global issues, including livelihoods and economic prosperity, environmental preservation and management, governance initiatives (both formal and informal), safety and security, and property rights. The technical capabilities of the firm range from - Technology Training and Community Engagement: supporting people and organizations in using available technologies to collect, manage, and display data that is important to them. - Human-Centered Project Design: developing projects in the best interest of all the stakeholders. - Professional Surveying, Technical Mapping, and GIS Training: ensuring high-quality data collection and analysis for a variety of development purposes. - Satellite, UAV, and Terrestrial Imagery Acquisition: collecting high-resolution, high-quality imagery of earth and communities. - Geospatial Innovation: developing mobile and web-based applications for a variety of purposes ranging from data collection and management to data usability and data visualizations. - Development Research: field research on topics of data, governance, technology, innovation, and community development. - Data Advocacy: working with stakeholders to address data privacy, use, storage, accessibility, and data interoperability. The company has implemented projects in Kenya, Tanzania, Somalia, Nigeria, and South Africa, and has consulted on projects carried out in Zambia, Swaziland, and Ghana.
