Sparky Software began in 1996 when some racing enthusiasts realized that there had to be a better way to run their fantasy league than the spreadsheets they were using. The company offered its first full season Winston Cup version of Green Flag Racing (gfrCup) in February 1998. Each year since, continuous improvements have been made to its fantasy software and the company introduced a Formula One version (gfrF1) in January 2000.
