S.P.A.R.K: STEAM Projects Association of Research and Knowledge SPARK is a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) centred Non-Profit Organization that aims to bring STEAM-focused education, competitions and services accessible to youth in the GTA. We have hosted Hackathons and other student-engaging events for high school students that are interested in pursuing a career in the STEAM field or are generally curious. Our goal is to provide learning opportunities for students to develop and build on their technical and transferrable skills while collaborating with others that have the same educational interests. In total, we have hosted four successful events and even a podcast. Our 2018 competition was at the McMaster Innovation Park with about 170 Participants, Mentors, judges and volunteers. In 2019, we hosted the competition at Humber College with about 300 participants, judges, speakers, mentors and volunteers. In 2020, our SPARK from-home event had over 200 people engaged in just one virtual event, and we even raised $1100 for Black Lives Matter, Yemen, the COVID-19 crisis and mental health organizations! And our last event was for Chase the Case in 2021, with over 220 attendees and eight sponsors involved. Website: startthespark.info
